THE KOREAN ULTRA “V” THREADLIFT

I ‘m sure most of you would already have heard about the Korean Ultra V Threadlift procedure.  For this post, I shall talk about this popular treatment and hopefully shed some light on any queries with regards to this procedure…

The low-down on Korean Ultra V Thread Lift

With the popularization of the slim V Shape jawline in Korea, much of the hype and trends have since spread beyond its shores to other countries, Singapore being one of them.

So what exactly is the Korean Ultra V Thread lift?

The Korean Ultra V Thread lift is essentially a NON-SURGICAL procedure that was popularized in Korea to give a person a V shape face lift via the insertion of different threads into your tissues.

For those hesitant about going under the knife, this is probably the most powerful lifting procedure available, short of a surgical face lift.

 

What are these “threads” that is so commonly spoken about?

Generally speaking, there are 2 types of threads:

• Mono or smooth threads:

These are used mainly for FIRMING and TIGHTENING

 

• Cogged or barbed threads that have jagged edges:

These jagged edges are used to grasp hold of saggy tissues for LIFTING EFFECTS

These threads are made up of Polydioxanone that is dissolvable and is a very safe material that is sometimes used in cardiac surgery amongst other medical procedures.

 

So how does a Threadlift help to restore a V shape face?

As we age, our tissues start to sag and our skin start to lose its elasticity.  With these threads (ie. cogged threads), we now have a means to grasp and pull the tissues that have sagged to give it a lift upwards, thereby, helping to restore our previously V shaped face.

Also, we are able to regenerate new collagen to firm up our skin with the insertion of these threads into the deeper skin layers.

This is essentially a 2-in-1 procedure:  LIFTING and FIRMING

What areas can a thread lift be used to treat?

Thread lifts can be used to:

I am only in my 20s… am I too young for a Threadlift? Who is suitable for this procedure?

There is no specific age range for this procedure and it is safe for all adults!  If you are showing some signs of sagging (even as young as in your 20s or 30s) and/or have a   square-ish jaw line that you wish to make more V but do not wish to go under the knife, then this procedure is applicable to you.

No two persons are alike, therefore, a consultation with a professional is key to determine the type of threads used, how it should be placed and the overall Individualised design of the thread lift.

 

Are the results of a Threadlift immediate?

You will be able to see an immediate result after a threadlift!  Also, the results will improve over time as new collagen is being stimulated over the coming months.

 

Are these threads permanent?

These threads are NOT permanent and results can last up to 2 years.  Your body will slowly break down these threads.

 

How long does the procedure take?

Numbing cream and local anesthesia will first be administered and depending on the number of areas being treated, the procedure can take 45 mins to over an hour.

 

Are there any side effects associated with a threadlift?

The more common side effects are associated with the injection sites where the threads are inserted.  These include redness, swelling and/or bruising.

Last but not least, ALWAYS go to a professional doctor to get this done as this is considered a complex procedure.. this is so as to avoid unnecessary complications…
